A Woman for All Ages

An article by Eileen Birin

Chalkboard Dust

This book will make you laugh. It will make you cry. These children will all win a special place in your heart.

Chalkboard Dust is a collection of twenty-six true stories about students as remembered by their teachers.

In these pages meet . . .

ANTONIO, a little boy with the magic of Christmas in his heart;

ELISA, of few words, well-chosen, right on target. Bam! Yeah-cool!

FRANNIE, undisciplined, totally disorganized, and a challenge to any teacher's patience;

JONATHON BOYD, who touched the heavens in his race to learn;

MARIO, a child of the Depression, who never had a toy but knew exactly how high Mount Everest is;

REGINA, who knew more rhyming words than anyone on earth; and many other students as remembered by their teachers
