A tale of a young Samurai's growth, development and achievements in life

Follow the adventures of Flame, a young boy, as he discovers the power within himself, overcomes obstacles, and constantly improves his abilities both physically and mentally.

Meet his family and learn about the mysteries of his background and legacy.

Uncover the truth about things hidden in Flame's past and see how they work to make him all that he can be.

This is a story written by a twelve-year-old student and the best audience is middle readers, but the lessons the author includes are timeless and can be appreciated by all readers.

AN EXCERPT from Samurai:

Conkie patted his hands on the back of Flame’s shoulder blades and said, “My son, there is more to being the best. You need a real reason. Fight to be strong and be a good leader for your apprentice, and for your mother. Your mother had the same dream you did."

“Now then, let me see your abilities.”

They were ready and attacked at full force; not a drop of strength was held back. When their swords landed on one another, a tornado-like wave flew into the ground. They both flew. When they hit a tree it knocked them out; but wait, Flame’s clone took the damage. He was really inside the tree, right behind the clone.

Arriq Reams

Samurai! Part 2

As twelve-year-old student at Ira Murphy Elementary School, Arriq Reams enjoyed writing exciting books that helped him work out his emotions. While he admitted that he had artistic talent, he noted that, “Everyone has some inside of them, they just have to have a positive attitude to keep it growing.”

He began writing books when he was nine years old and enjoys expressing himself through words. His love of Samurai movies gave him the idea for his latest book.

Arriq is now 15 and the sequel to his first book has been published. He still loves to write and draw and is also interested in sports and music.

Samurai! Part 2

Daniel’s uncle taught him how to draw and that gift is one that this student treasures, since his uncle died in a tragic car accident. He was a successful student at Ira Murphy Elementary School where he played soccer and many other sports when he illustrated the first Samurai book. Now he is a sophomore at Peoria High School.

What he likes best is drawing and being creative and artistic in a variety of ways. This young artist grew up in Tucson, Arizona and loves using his talent to express himself. Daniel used pencil to produce the illustrations for both Samurai books for his friend.

Seeing Their Book in Print for the first time!

This is what is looks like to see your work in print shortly after your thirteenth birthday. Twelve-year-old students, Arriq and Daniel worked together on this book for almost a year before getting to see the final result in print. It's a 92 page paperback that began as a story written in pencil on college-ruled paper. Illustrations were in done pencil. It was an exciting adventure for two young boys.
